President’s Message

As I write this, the weather has finally broken and it’s nice out! And that just serves as a reminder tht summer will soon be over and that means MIDWEST SUPERFEST is getting closer. As always, the third weekend of September:, this year is September 20-21. If you’ve never been to a ham fest before, think of it as a great big ham garage sale. For this year’s Superfest we have all kinds of things that are getting set up.

One of the big things we get to host this year is the ARRL Central Division Convention and the Illinois Section Convention! This will draw hams from all over the Midwest we will have all kinds of people selling old equipment, we will have venders with new stuff for sale too! there will be door prizes and raffle prizes, food and forums and license testing! Just how much will this cost you? It’s free for club members! So make sure that your status is current in Hamclub Online. If you’re not a member, you can purchase tickets online or from club members, and they come with a raffle stub. This event takes a lot of work to put on and many club members have been working all year. Thank you! And it will take lots of legwork in the days leading up to and durning the event as well as cleaning up. Please help out if you can. This is how our club makes money to keep the repeaters on the air and sponsor other activites from Field Days to license exam sessions. As always, check the web page for all the info.

Hope to see you out there!
